We believe that preventing harm is the best practice to combat human trafficking.
What does this look like?
Prevention strategies we have found particularly effective include:
- Educating vulnerable populations on the risks of being trafficked or exploited
- Creating sustainable programs which decrease overall vulnerabilities among those at the greatest risk of being trafficked
- Supporting organizations and individuals who promote public health and public policy initiatives which give a voice to children and people groups at the greatest risk of being trafficked
- Building a safety net of support to protect at risk populations from being exploited through the collective efforts of key community groups working collaboratively to minimize vulnerabilities
